At Work

Our workplaces make many of the resource consuming decisions in our society.

While most of us have less control over our workplaces than we do over our homes, our commitment to reducing the damage to the environment cannot stop when we get to work. So become an agent of change toward sustainability and lead (or support) the greening of our work cultures and the means of production.

Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Sailor… It's time we all think about how we can reduce the environmental impact of our own profession.

Environmental

Businesses, farms and other organisations control the environmental impacts of their operation, their products and their production processes. For too long this control has been free from responsibility for the environmental cost of these decisions. As a result, the environmental performance of most organisations is woeful, and an area where great gains could be easily made in reducing carbon emissions and water use, thus speeding our transition to a sustainable society.

Wellbeing

We all love to be part of something great. Conversely, no-one likes to work for the devil (or even a mildly thoughtless clod). Given the time we spend at work and the investment of our identity in our careers, the need to feel good about this part of our lives is pressing. So to find a company with wise and progressive environmental programs and a team working on turning them into the reality is a rare blessing that's bound to put a spring in our step on Monday morning as we catch the train to work.
